Generate QR codes for URLs, text, WiFi credentials, or vCards. Adjustable size, error correction, download PNG/SVG.

QR Code Generator builds scannable QR codes for URLs, plain text, WiFi auto-connect, vCard contact info, or any payload up to 4,000 characters. Common uses: restaurant menus, business cards, event posters, WiFi guest credentials, contactless payment links.

Pickrack uses the open-source qrcode library running in your browser. The QR is generated locally and never sent to any tracking service — no shortener, no redirect, no analytics. Anyone scanning gets the data you encoded directly.

Free, no signup. Download as PNG (raster, common) or SVG (vector, prints crisp at any size). Adjustable error correction level: L (7%) / M (15%) / Q (25%) / H (30%) — higher means more damage tolerance but bigger QR pattern.

Key features

  • Multiple input typesURL, plain text, WiFi (auto-connect on scan), vCard (contact info), email, phone — each with proper formatting.
  • PNG + SVG downloadPNG for screen / printing at known size; SVG for design tools, business cards, or any-size scaling.
  • Adjustable size 100-1000px100px for inline use; 500px for posters; 1000px for high-DPI prints.
  • Error correction L/M/Q/HHigher correction means QR survives smudges/damage. Logo-overlay use cases need Q or H so the partially-blocked pattern still scans.
  • No tracking, no shortenerMost online QR generators bake in their own URL shortener (and analytics). Pickrack encodes your URL DIRECTLY — no redirect, no tracking.

How to use

  1. Step 1: Pick input type + contentURL is most common. WiFi format: SSID + password + encryption type.
  2. Step 2: Adjust size and error correctionDefault 400px + M correction works for 90% of cases. Increase for posters or logo overlays.
  3. Step 3: Download PNG or SVGPNG for everyday use. SVG for design, vinyl printing, or business cards.

When to use

  • Restaurant menu — print a QR on the table that opens your online menu
  • WiFi guest network — print on a placard so guests scan and auto-connect (no typing password)
  • Business card — encode vCard so scanning adds you to phone contacts
  • Event poster — QR linking to ticket page or RSVP form
  • Pay link — encode a payment request URL (Stripe, PayPal, MoMo)
  • Product packaging — link to instructions, registration, or warranty page

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR code track who scans it?

No. Pickrack encodes your URL directly into the QR pattern — no shortener, no redirect, no analytics. When someone scans, they go straight to your URL. Their device doesn't ping anything Pickrack-related.

Why use SVG over PNG?

SVG scales infinitely — print at 1cm or 1m without pixelation. Best for business cards, posters, vinyl signs. PNG is fine for fixed-size screen or document use.

What's the maximum data length?

QR can hold up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 2,953 bytes. Higher error correction reduces capacity. For long URLs, consider a URL shortener (your own, not embedded by us).

Does it support logo overlay?

v1 doesn't auto-overlay logos. Use error correction H (30%), download SVG, then overlay your logo in a design tool — the QR's redundancy keeps it scannable with up to 30% obscured.

What error correction level should I use?

L (7%) — clean prints, tiny logo or no logo. M (15%) — default, most common. Q (25%) — outdoor poster, some weathering. H (30%) — logo overlay, vinyl that'll get scratched.

Can I generate WiFi QR for guests?

Yes — WiFi format: WIFI:S:<SSID>;T:<WPA|WEP|nopass>;P:<password>;;. Pickrack's WiFi mode formats this for you. iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android 10+ auto-connect on scan.

Will my QR work on all phones?

Yes — QR is a 1994 standard with universal support. iOS Camera app (iOS 11+), Google Lens, and any QR scanner app all read standard QR. v1 of Pickrack uses standard QR (not Micro QR or rMQR).

Is there a size minimum for printing?

QR should be at least 2cm × 2cm for reliable phone scan from 30cm distance. For poster-size (scan from 1m+), use 10cm × 10cm. Higher data density = needs larger physical size.
